Walking in Texas Summers

Walking Around – a Summer Scorcher

Walking around life these past few months has been like a roller coaster. Between the busy season at work to life handing me lemons, it feels like I was just put through the wringer of it all. Life is chaos at its best, yet it always finds a way to remind you how amazing it can be. The start of summer started out with a stab in the heart and quickly turned into further heartache. Two deaths in the family from two different households within weeks of each other. The last death has really put me into quite a spiral. Loss is never easy, especially when it’s the loss of someone you love who left too soon. Tomorrow is never granted to any of us, and this is something that I have learned to try to accept. I thought I had accepted this, but then I was reminded or rather slapped by life to remind me of how much I am not accepting of this fact.

Walking in Texas Summers

I had already planned a trip to Houston, Texas, during this summer season, but this last death has me worried it may be my last trip. I know, I should not think like this. However, one cannot help but feel like that. To die away from my family while on a getaway is not something I could have fathomed before this year, but now that it has occurred, I cannot help but wonder, what is my fate? This trip to Houston allowed me to reconnect in multiple ways. I went into it thinking maybe, just maybe it can help me heal a tiny bit from all the trauma.

If you are not following recent weather events, Texas is in the midst of a scorching summer season. Houston is expected to be slightly cooler in temperature than my hometown usually is. So, Houston and the Texas Gulf Coast are perfect for us to visit and cool down. We planned to drive there and back in my SUV, leaving on a Sunday and returning on a Thursday. We will recap the trip over the next couple of posts! Get ready for great pictures and exciting sites! Check out the links below for some of the sites we visited! I will be updating this post with the links to these specific posts as they are posted over the next week.
