Walking around San Antonio on a foggy and humid morning. So I dressed in capri workout leggings and a tank top. As I dressed, I thought about where I wanted to walk. I decided to walk along one of the San Antonio River Walk hike and bike paths.
Walking the San Antonio Hike and Bike Paths
The San Antonio River Walk Hike and Bike Path include over 40,000 miles of beautiful trails that one can explore. The city has 5 walk/run paths and 6 bike trails found throughout the city for anyone to enjoy. There are also Greenway Trails and maps of the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park which are wonderful places to visit and explore. Visit the San Antonio Hike and Bike trail website for more information. I hope to walk all 40,000 miles, maybe not in one day. Here’s a view of what you can expect.
These walking paths have plenty of opportunities for one to fish or sit and take in the beauty. I love going down these paths to take in the scenery and sounds. It is a very calming and peaceful time for me.
Reminder for walking
During the walk, this morning, a male and female cardinal crossed my path. They say cardinals are visits from loved ones who have passed. I always see cardinals around my house and on my walks. It’s in these moments that I find myself saying hi to my mom. This year will mark three years since she passed. I cannot help but think of her with each cardinal visit. She loved getting out and walking. Exploring one of the cities in the hill country, flea market visits, or shopping at the outlets were a few of the things she loved to walk. She is the reason why I incorporated walking into my everyday routine.
Why do you walk?
