Weekends can be a time for me to decompress from a stressful week and this week was one of those weeks! Usually, my weekends are filled with walking in the morning, errands or exploration afternoons, and relaxing in the evenings. Although, there are days when I will curl up with a blanket and binge-watch TV Shows. However, today is not one of those days!
Starting the day out right
First up for the day is my morning walk! It is a weekend day, Saturday, so that means a goal of walking at least 3 miles or at least 7,000 Steps. Most weekend days, I may only do a morning walk of 2.5 miles or 6,000 steps. However, by the end of the day, I end up with an average of 8,000 steps. As a reminder, I am not a fitness trainer or a health coach. I am simply trying to decompress and enjoy walks in beautiful surroundings. These are my personal goals and averages.
Today’s walk includes the company of my best friend as we walk around Woodlawn Lake Park in San Antonio, TX. Walking the paved trail here is approximately 1.3 miles per lap. Today, we will be doing two laps, 2.6 miles. My attire for the day is simple. An Adidas t-shirt, leggings, and a pullover hoodie. My shoes are the comfy Brooks Women’s Glycerin GTS 20. These shoes feel lightweight and comfortable on your feet.
I highly recommend these shoes to anyone looking for a good pair of walking shoes. I know they are on the higher end of the price spectrum, however, they are the best pair that I have found! Use the link below to check out the reviews of others who have bought the same shoes and purchased a pair.
My best friend and I use our walking time to catch up. I am usually listening while she talks and provide my opinion when asked. We concluded our walk with 2.79 miles in a little under 50 minutes. Not a bad time after a brief time off walking due to a blister.
Time to enjoy the remainder of the day
Let’s see what the rest of the day will bring. Thank you for taking the time to read this post! What do you like about walking?
