Hello everyone! Happy Saturday. It has been quite some time since I last sat down and wrote. I do not know about you, but it feels like something has been lifted off my shoulders now that I have a chance to write. Life can sometimes get stuck in 3rd gear. These past two weeks are a testament to that! Walking around the busy life and career days this week had me unable to strike a decent work/life balance.
We all have these times in our life when instead of walking around, we are running around. What can we do to help ourselves not go crazy while life gets stuck like this? Well, let me tell you what I did to walk around being stuck in 3rd gear!
Walking Around Chaos
This week has felt like life stayed in 3rd gear. Work has been super crazy busy. Walking around those busy times at your 9-to-5 job can sometimes be stressful. You may need to wind the day down with a glass of wine or two. I know, for me, this week has been one eventful moment after another. It was full of self-doubts and concern over delivery times. We all walk around in self-doubt and wonder, am I cut out for this role?
In these times, I remind myself that I am stronger than I think. I can do whatever I set my mind to. Also, asking for assistance ALWAYS helps! A method I use to help combat a busy week is allowing coworkers to help with overwhelming tasks. Asking for help is never a sign of weakness; but rather a sign of strength. It proves we are not self-centered and are willing to do what we need to succeed. Another method that I like to use is to sit down and write. A journal can help relieve stress. Writing this blog has allowed me to focus more on a work/life balance. Truly living a work/life balance helps get out of life in 3rd gear!
Walking Around… Date Night
Part of trying to find that work/life balance is actually living life. During date night this week, dinner at a great steak house followed by a walk in a new area was just what the doctor ordered. If you have been to San Antonio, you must have heard about Little Red Barn. They have the best dinner rolls, steak, and Texas Sweet Tea! Dinner was a country-fried steak with a baked potato for myself. While my date had a 10 oz Ribeye Steak with a baked potato. Little Red Barn did not let us down as usual! OMG, their food was on point and delicious! However, we failed to leave room for dessert. Yet again, oops! What better way to help our food go down than a stroll through the city! We decided to explore a stretch of the newly opened walking path along San Pedro Creek! There is something peaceful about hearing water falling over a ledge and experiencing a beautiful setting. What do you think?
Walking around in crazy weather and chaos
How was my weekend? Crazy, doom and gloom type of method! The weather today has been rainy and cold. Can you believe that there are still parts of central Texas that are getting snowfall today? I know I cannot! Rain canceled our morning walk. Instead, we decided to explore walking around a flea market. Not many sellers were out there today. However, it still felt good to get out of the house. I wonder what will be in store for us tomorrow? The weather forecast calls for a repeat of today, but we will see when the morning comes!
Time for me to curl up under the blanket and watch some feel-good movies before drifting off to sleep. I hope next week turns out to be better than this week. What are your go-to date night walking adventures?
